Site where I get the screens:

http://www.aeicomp.com/search_result.as ... 20Monitors

The NES Micro uses the ALCD25L, the Phoenix is ALCD35L

Call, ask for Dan McKee. Tell him Ben Heckendorn referred you. Their prices are pretty good, considering it's a module that requires no hacking (unlike a little TV)

Oh and check this out:

Ok that's it for pics. Rest coming tomorrow night!

RE: how I made it this small. It uses a NOAC, which is really small. I wired the Famicom-NES adapter very small. The screen is small. The buttons are hollow.

And most important of all - I've been doing this for almost 6 years!

how do you make something that small!?! that's awesome. what NOAC did you use? I've been thinking of working on one myself, after I finish the regular NES version.

After getting an arcade cabinet made and I get an mp3 player, I'll probably consider something of this nature, using vacuforming.

I've seen something similar to those monitors on ebay. Here:
this looks useful too

They're all over ebay, because they ship from hong kong for like $40, but they sell them for $10. It ends up being cheaper than the other LCDs, but there's no LED backlight.

Nice work! I really like this one, I bet you if you ask a game company like sony microsoft or nintendo for a job in design/engineering after this episode that you'd get it! nice work.

Wow! In the words of Bruce Almighty, it's b-e-a-utiful! What I'm wondering is what kind of battery would be small enough to fit in there and still give enough power!
Woah..there must be something like 6 layers if acrylic for the sides.
(I notice you bought a micro...for shame! :P )

Can't wait to see the story on it. Again, EXCELLENT job!
