I'd love to grant that wish but not a mod here. The forums I over see are for the most part low traffic. I get maybe 5-10 post at most a day in the SNES and yeah the Atari went inactive for over a week before you posted FDSMAN.

To Link89, I'm sure I've posted in a closed thread. You know, I did that just to do it once simply because its something I hadnt been able to do before.

Now this thing about blam the mods. This looks more like empty conspericy theories more then facts about how we're breaking our own rules. I'd say take the advice Luc or Bicostp said, PM them. I'd bewilling to listen to a reasonable request to reopen any thead that I might have closed or ExtremeSonic/Spongebuell.

The mini mods are doing a great job. If there were none this place would go insane. Imagine all the spamming, and point less threads and 1337 .
FDSman if you really think the mods are bad i would like to see you mod a forum of this size by yourself with out making any mistakes since you are accusing the mods of doing too many. They havent really made any big mistakes. occasionaly there will be an unesesary (is that how ya spell it? :? ) clozerizing but look, nothing in history has ever suceeded with a complete anarchy.

Thanks to those looking at us positively, we appreciate it :)

@FDSMAN: Look at the big picture. Yes, there are some threads closed, but there is always a button for unlocking, and we are open to using it with some discussion via PM. And as for posting in locked topics, it's always in good fun, never to show any supremacy or anything. :)

In an attempt to better myself, let me see if I can get this idea straight. I have been abusing my powers
1. Lock-happy
2. Posting in locked threads
3. Over-all power mongering

Now I shall break down each idea.

1. Quite simply, I think this is wrong. Show me a string of consistant locked threads where this trend is evident. Not one (we all make single mistakes), mulitple. Otherwise, your acuasation is without proof or base.

2. I was having fun. Pardon me, I'll remember that as a Senior Member of this forum I must constantly appeal to the junior members when deciding how to enjoy myself here. I'd say someone has a stick up their @$$...

3. I will guess that this is relating to me being a Mod in three separate forums (TP, 42, NES). If you want, I will relinquish NES. If it will please you, I will not argue it. I am here, as a mod, to be a servant to the average member. If I am not doing that, I have failed in my job.

Why? Because a few people didn't like that their threads got locked? We are doing a good job here, getting stickys up, setting up polls, and oh yeah, moderating. If we went back to the old way, there would be a TON of spam to sort through. It would be hard to find anything worth reading! I thank the F42 mods for cleaning out all the junk, and flaming posts that will only hurt our community. If that's the stuff you want, then go to another forum. Please, jsut stop complaining, it's a good idea that I think should stay. And by the look of things so does most everyone else, besides a few people.

I had almost forgotten why I had stopped posting, and even starting ignoring some threads, but now this thread comes along, and I rememberred.

It doesn't matter if you're only pointing fingers at one mod, because it offends and all of us.

Think about what some of you are saying. The only reason that most threads end up locked, is because they were either inappropriate, needless, or stupid. Certain members seem to think that every idea that pops into their head deserves a thread. Think about the idea, plan it out, then post it if you still think it deserves to be posted. Don't make a thread everytime you get an idea, and think that somebody should build it.

I don't necessarily agree with mods posting in locked threads, unless it's to explain why it was locked, but it's their own decission if they want to. How the hell is it hurting you if a mod posts in a locked topic.

The mini-mods on this forum were chosen for one or more of the following reasons: knowledge, experience, loyalty/respect, or good looks. All the mini-mods are moderating in forums which we know lots of information for. Not all, but most of us have built atleast one or more portables, which fits in as part of the knowledge category. All the mini-mods have been around these forums long enough to know how far things can go without getting out of hand, and for the most part, are respectful to the members here. And finally, everybody here knows which mod was chosen because of his good looks.

I don't know if some of you are jealous that you don't get to be mods, but you guys can be pretty disrespectful sometimes (let me point to the "mini-mods are nazis" thread).

BTW, we might not seem like such jerks if we didn't always have to put up with members complaining about us all the time.

Also, thank you to those of you who have been supporting us.

How about starting a thread, where ppl can go and "challenge" a decision made by a mod to lock/insult/abuse their power? A place where everybody can post thier thoughts about it. Any post made in that thread that dosen't involve the topic should result in an instant ip ban.

Just an idea, so people can openly talk about things you mini mods do.

I'm all for this idea. Would anyone object to a new "Mini-mod Discussion Thread" sticky?

Abusing our powers? O.o

To be honest, I've never even USED my powers in N64 or DC yet. Haven't needed to. I've never locked a forum, edited a post, or even had to threaten to do so. And yet you lump us all together like we're monsters?

Maybe it's because I oversee the technical forums, but I can still see where posts would need deleted/edited in Forum 42 on occassion, should they be offensive/flame-ridden/etc. Mistakes will happen, and even if they do, please settle it with that specific mod, okay?

Like it or not, the forum is getting larger, and some form of extended control is becoming necessary. It isn't just the few of us it was when this board opened anymore. Ben's work is more popular, and there are many more people here. It's becoming too much for just a few mods.

Instead of flamming us all, please try thinking of a better idea than the mini-mod situation. You're much more likely to be listened to if you follow that route than by insulting us all.

And yes, I support that sticky, as long as it doesn't become a medium to flame us rather than its' intended purpose.

I also suggest that mini-mods do not have powes in that forum, but full mods do, so that no one can say we control who gets heard.
Warranty-Voiding fun!

k even more to the point yesterday there was only one mini mod thread and now there is three one locked... LOL some are being vary unfair and only reading like the last post in the thread. and if you think that every non locked thread has been an inteligent one your dead wrong i havgnt seen a thread i wanted to contribute to for months, most of my posting these days have been pointless coments to make it look like i give a dam.... why did we need so many threads about the same thing by the same people and now even that poll has been what else locked... i think the mini mods could be a good idea they just souldnt be so freaking anoying and locking every other thread, you know how many threads the real mods closed not vary many and it wasnt a problem, some people argued that we needed mini mods because of the spammers but looking at the state and content of our vary truseted mini mods we have more than ever... so please if we are going to post to gether it better be some thing we can all stand, and honestly i think if we had more freedom with the rules and alittle more discusion about things like portables!! every time i go to this site its strate to fourm 42 to see whats new and nothing is then i get sick of all the crap i have to sort through then buy the time i want to go the nes or snes threads i dont care. i think this fourm is as good as dead if the mods become more and more controlling.
