looks like it has a lot of good potential, but also a lot of bad potential. i hope nintendo doesn't get too excited about it and make stupid games where you just mess around with stuff

I'll have to say I'm a little dissapointed. While it is innovative I thought they would have made something "Revolutionary". I mean that really isn't a new idea.

Sure its going to have more bells and whistles, but I fail to see why this is so exciting. I have would made a virtual boy controller (with analog sticks) with a ball pivot in the middle.
Now that would rule.

Just imagine. You could pin one stick down and it becomes a flight stick, or if they made a base it could be a train simulator, or a mech assult type thing if you flip it over (and there were buttons on the underside of the oversized grips, oversized so you don't hit them using any of the other modes), or you could detach the ends from the "ball" and attach other control sets (game specific sets, some boxing gloves, sword and shield, pair of pistols) Man that would be awesome.

I really love it. As for some concerns of people about only having 4 buttons...
1) Remember, the Rev. has 4 GC controller slots
2) There is the expansion port on the bottom of the controller, and I'm pretty sure I've spied a groove on the right side of the controller, possibly indicating a X and Y buttoned add on can slide in there and be just like a SNES controller.

I can't wait for it to come out, after reading the hands on reports it seems very intuitive and just a refreshing way to play videogames. Bad news is, no portable Revolutions are going to be possible due to the required interacting with the tv screen. I'm so excited for the Revolution!

Edit:

Basically my interpretation is that it functions like a gyroscopic mouse, it senses when you tilt it, move it from left to right, and then moves the cursor on the screen accordingly.

what i dont like is that i'll probably have to buy a bunch of addons for the controller instead of getting one with everything you need right there

My thoughts exactly. You guys keep complaining about the Inty controller, but you crap yourselves over this...oh well, at least it has a D-Pad and actual buttons rather than the disk and phone plastic thing.

Um.... words cannot express. Wow, Nintendo made a TV remote. Dump your stock now, this is the end. Seriously, are they kidding?

I know I dump on Nintendo a lot. But this is BULLCRAP. People know what a game controller is. What's this? Phillips's CD-I garbage? I'm telling you, Nintendo is bailing on the game with their tail between their legs. You know this is so stupid I can't even believe it's real. How do you push a directional and "A" at the same time?

If this IS the controller I PREDICT NOW the Revolution will go down in flames in ways the Virtual Boy would be envy of.... wow, way to confuse your market Big N... even MY MOM for crying out loud knows the difference between a gamepad and a TV remote. Wow, simply.... wow. Nintendo, your leftvoer billions from Pokemon have made you insane. GET OUT NOW.... make Mario for the PS3 / Xbox PI and make even more $$$ than ever.

Don't go that far.

They made having 300 buttons obsolete.

The also made the X360 and PS3 obsolete in one shot.

MS: Look at our slightly better graphic, worse over all games! And our slightly better controller! We are liked by our fanboys!

Sony: Look at our slightly better graphic, worse over all games! And our cool looking but worse controller! We are liked by our fanboys!

Nintendo: You haven't seen any games yet, but you think that this is one of the best game consoles ever. Its not out, you haven't seen a real game, and you love our TV remote controller. Fear us, we're not dead yet.

Sega: Damn you 32x/Sega CD! We wouldn't be in this mess if we didn't think of you!
