Does it have the scrolling "block" and the classic "ping" noise without a cart? If your game is bad, it wont have video or sound. If you dont have a game in there, it should have the "PING"... i think. Try another game if you can, or try your tetris on a working GBA/GBx.

is this a GB Classic, GB Pocket, or GBColor?

If you want some ideas what to do with it, i can give you info on making a simple rewiteable cart and writer for it so you can slam freeware roms and apps on it. I have an app for my GB Color (works better on the pocket and Classic) that allows me to play arround with the phone companys equipment. i also have an IR Recorder/Playback software... I think i might have a serial terminal program as well, i dont know if i still have it, i can possibly rewrite it. Build a simple PS/2 ASCII Terminal, and use the GB as an ASCII Reciever, and you have a simple serial terminal. Great for configuring routers, or those 4 line road signs you see on the roads.

Please be nice. One doesn't really expect game systems to have Contrast, especially in this day and age. We're used to the older systems, but not everyone is. I made the same mistake with my Vectrex when I first got it. (I had no experience or documentation with it, so it was hard for me to spot.)

You live and you learn.

Aw nerts man, that's down-right embarassing! :P NIce humility though. You don't see that this day and age. I give you props for that one...
Gald to hear that one more vintage(-ish) console is still alive and well. Personally, though, I like the GBP more...

I remember when lugging around a big old Gameboy was the cool thing to do. I used to spend hours with mine. Good times.
