yeah, reffering to ground as - voltage isn't very accurate, that doubles the potential voltage you're talking about.

I have a pre-made LM4752 amp for sale if anyone's interested. Here's a pic:

It's the exact same amp in my gainclone only it's tiny! It's got the power jack and headphone port for line in and speaker wire connectors. So all y ou need are speakers and a batt :)

Thanks for the diagram. One question though, does it HAVE to run off 24V? That could be pretty tricky to get ahold of. If it could run on 12V it would be easier to find a power supply.

no, it can run off as low as 9v. However, you can't get anywhere near the 22watt output by doing that. You need at least 20v to get decent output.

if you want I can sell you a 6 cell li-ion 24v battery pack. If you don't have a 12v charger I can include one of those too. You just need an AC adapter that's rated 15v @1 amp.

It's interesting you mention building a car amp b/c that's what I'm working on right now. I bought 7 Infinity speakers for my car and I need a 50w-100w amp for my sub woofer. I've been working with the LM3886 cicuit which is renouned as the best most powerful amp to work with. It can achieve up to 68watts and you can parallel 2 of them for over 100 watts!

As for the complexity-it really isn't anything compared to making portables :P Building these amps is pretty simple as long as you have a schematic that WORKS. There are half a dozen schems floating around the net and it's hard to figure out which one is the right one. But if you're interested in working with the LM4752 at all then it's pretty much a walk in the park to make one. But like I said it's 22w max. The main time consumer was the wooden case for it. That took forever to make.

Nice to see you like AC/DC, and such a sweet portable, but my speakers are good enough for me (and the Subwoofer)
