Here is how it works for me and my friends. I buy system and games (DS, Kirby). Friend borrows the system and game. Nintendo goes double-time to try to attract said friend. Friend don't care.
Nintendo is on their own and preferes their own idea but their hit percentage is lowering with their products getting closer to Virtual Boy than innovation. When the Micro was made, it was made to compete for pocket space with an ipod. Nintendo forgot about themselves when they made it. Good games make the system. I don't think the croud they are atracting will buy gunstar super heroes. The two local gamestops have nintendo areas with nobody visiting them. Who will be there to buy a game for the micro? And the accesories?

From my point of view the handhelds should be getting bigger and bigger screens as time goes on, not smaller and smaller... In all seriousness Nintendo would make it smaller except the GBA cart is too big lol. I can see it now "Nintendo announces new DS, the new model has 2 1 inch screens that are so small you can't see the text!"
Any kid that wants a GBM dosn't have enough money... and anyone who would have enough is broke from buying a DS or PSP. I won't be getting one, my DS can play GBA games AND DS games for only $40 more... lol:

The only thing that could POSSIBLY make me buy that is if it had something new and clever. Something like a built-in NOAC, that could save this from disaster. But sadly they just remade the same hardware in a slightly different form
Look at the size of it! That's what they are trying to use to sell it, but to somebody like me, with big hands and eyes that don't like straining to see a small screen, that is a disadvantage! What are they thinking! *flush*

1) Not many people are developing for anything right now.Radon199 wrote:Also, who the heck still develops for the GBA? Ive seen like 2 good games out since the DS launched. It's an inferiour system, id much rather have them spend their time porting Orcarana of Time than making a new crap game.
2) But, there are still games being released for it, since younger kis get a GBA. Why? Most durable and cheapest.
3) Learn to spell. (Orcanana?)
4) Even if Ocarina of Tim was good, I don't want the DS to have mostly N64 remakes. You complain it's a portable N64, but want remakes on it?
5) Besides, it was already ported (Master Quest)

Nintendo used to be about cutting the necesscary corners to maintain affordability. The first gameboy had no backlight, no color, but it did have a nice price tag and long battery life (not to mention great games). It was a few sacrifices to maintain affordability, because of this the Gameboy beat out the Game Gear, the Lynx, the Neo Geo pocket, all of Tigers handhelds, and countless other handheld contenders. However these re-hashed advance handhelds are just the opposite of what made Nintendo so great in the first place (few must have titles, high costs). During this generation of gaming Nintendo seems to have survived soley on the "just for kids" facade, the only alternative from the more mature and violent consoles (PS2, XBOX). Now children (and parents unaware of the ESRB rating system) choose the tasteless violent games over the "for kids" titles. I really hate to say it but Nintendo is on its last leg. I wish they would redo the consoles (Nsixty-four, GCone) or re-release consoles Flashback style!
