My laptop has the same battery life, but compared to some laptops that have 10 hours or more, thats nothing. My point was that more powerful CPUs requre more power. The point of having a portable is so you can go somewhere with it. I really cant go anywhere with my laptop. Every 2 hours you will see me pirating an outlet somewhere.Sparkfist wrote:ITX has a P4 motherboard (you buy the CPU) so you can power then thing with one of the ITX power supplies. Second is that well laptops are designed to be low power that doesnt mean they dont suck juice like desktops, my Athlon64 laptop will run about 2 maybe 3 hours on batteries alone.Foxx373 wrote:laptops are designed to have lower power reqirements. I dont think you will be able to use a laptop PSU on this thing. Not to mention, we dont knwo if the motherboard confroms to the ATX 2.0 PSU standards or not. You never know, this thing could say it want 16V but can take as low as 9V. And it being a P4 CPU, its going to be a power hungry beast. Try and get a celeron or EDEN class CPU. They arent as powerfull, but they dont use as much power. My laptop Lillith is a P4, and she is a power hungry moster!
As for the computer. I love it it a harken on to the good old days of the where computers where two items a computer and a monitor. I'd say its not a laptop motherboard, atleast not a brand name one. The price tells me they might be using either a generic brand or they possibly bought ITX motherboard is large qaunities (one is about $250).
I've thought about making a computer like that. However with my new toy its pointless til I have the funs up front and a new router (internet), then I'll delegat my current desktop to a sever like I plan with my Mac.
Pc in a Keyboard? How will i power it?

Yeah I wish I had gotten a laptop with a Turion64, its a lower power version the Athlon64 designed just for laptops. Also think about getting a second battery, I know I need to get one but I have to pay off this laptop first.

I am a geek.
My sisters 2.2ghz p4 laptop gets like ~3-4 hrs of life on a 6.5aH battery.
