G4 isn't all bad, if it wan't for G4 I would have never got into portables in the first place. I agree that they should have keep G4 and Techtv apart but their isn't anything we can do about that now. I love X-Play and can't live with out my daily dose of AOTS....I do miss Unscrewed tho. Their are only 3 Networks I watch on tv...G4, Discovery, and Adult Swim.

did you know that g4 bought techtv out pretty much to phase them out because they were their biggest competition, tech tv was too good for their own good

But they are also ranked in comparison with other games, such as when they have online play, other games should come up to par or surpass it to be as highly prized games as the others. Fighting games especially 3D should support analog especially on X-Box and Gamecube because of how it is positioned on the controller. Control schemes should change because if its all Halo knock offs its not innovative thereoff doesn't deserve as much originality kudos.

I'm not picking on you Evilness but I guess I should explain myself. I should specify since I've only seen a few XPLAYs (all of which are full of time filling retard humor and a few biased reviews). They still gave GT4 a 5/5 without online, they gave a DOA game a 5 I think (which does have online and analog fighting, but the game itself sucks), but Tekken 5 (a faster and more challenging game, if you try to fight instead of mindlessly mash buttons) which does not support online, instead includes full arcade versions of 3 previous titles, a whole new game Devil Within(not very good but its basically a free game who can complain!), boasts a huge lineup of characters (all of which are unique), and NEVER supported analog fighting (because that would be stupid those f * d/f can't be done with an analog) is given a 4/5. People who think DOA is a good fighter usually can't explain why aside from the fact that they have boobs. [/Tekken is better than DOA rant]
I shall also explain myself with the dated control complaint. I think this is referring to the newest Metal Gear Solid (should be a 5/5 hands down). They complain the control scheme is dated. I wasn't referring to any Halo knockoffs, because Halo didn't come up with that control scheme. This scheme was used way before Halo. I'm thinking Medal of Honor PS1 if not that it was Red Faction a PS2 release game. So technically speaking Halo is helping in the lack of innovation by using this "dated control scheme". Everyone cut your keyboards in half having them in one piece is so dated! Back to the matter at hand there is nothing wrong with the Metal Gear Controls (have they complained about the Spinter Cell Series controls? NO). I think they were just looking for a reason to hate MGS series because of the nude Raiden scene (its supposed to be funny you sexually insecure retards), and yes they did it again in MGS3 why, because its funny. G4 sucks because well because its G4. TechTV wasn't meant to be a videogame channel (the only videogame show was Extended Play... remember first it was Adam and some chick then just Adam then Morgan left TSS for a while only to join XPLAY because the name wasn't cool enough before I guess). TechTV was about everything technology tv, computers, games, mecha, you name it. The fact is G4 sucks. They hate everything japanese and love everything XBOX. Except for Katamari Damcy which is not even the best example of japanese wierdness. Rez anyone? I just want my TechTV back *sobs*.

That is the reason I think Halo 2 got a 5 instead of a 4, If they encountered all the glitches beforehand they might have seen it for what it was sure the multiplayer is awesome but this type of game should have a completely solid main game.

Sorry about this guys but i REALLY need to watch G4 for my own good. some of you guys said that g4 ruined tech tv, well im not one to argue because i first started watching the network in it's last month as G4TechTV, and by that i mean in The ScreenSavers last month or so. But i loved every freakin show on it. well except cinematech except when it was about e3 trailers. But seriously guys , i NEED your help!!

Dude, it's gotten even worse in the year this thread has been here.

I was a little disappointed by moving to Japan I was giving up the one network I watched with any regularity. Recently they added a few select G4 programs to the AFN (armed forces network) and I realized I wasn't missing anything. I watched attack of the show where they read the "100 sexiest women" edition of Maxim for almost the entire show. Sarah's not there, they've replaced her with some model that is nthing but a pretty face. They've changed the programming to include the frakking "Man Show" in their lineup and other not even closely related to tech shows. In anither AOTS they shaved some guys pubes on stage. (I watched two to make sure I hadn't caught them on a bad day) Trust me you're not missing anything, if you want soft-core porn watch the "girls gone wild" infomercial.

1st- I am aware of the changes made, i often visit their site.
2nd- I don't know where your soft-core comment came from cuz nobody here watches g4 for porn.
3rd- I enjoy...er, enjoyed watching AoTS, X-Play, even the commercials i loved., especially the x-play ones where they had the guy always going "i love morgan webb...blahblah something i hate adam sessler" it cracked me up. ANd my favorite g4 moments where during e3, they had great coverage, at least to my satisfaction.

Look, i don't want your views on g4 programming, all i want is your help on how i could get g4tv on dtv.

Darn, the last time I saw G4 was two years ago, right after G4 phased in...then I got Dish, and couldn't convince my parents to get the advanced pack, and have been watching Spike at midnight for my TVVG dose...even though it sucks...I just like the review shows, I don't know why, but I <3 reviews. IN a newspaper, first thing I check are reviews.

I never got the chance to watch TechTV before they merged/changed it over to G4, but I always looked at their website. There was some good stuff I learned on there, and it even got me to make a dual-boot system on my mom's computer with windows and fedora linux on it.
