yeah, I know how you feel....I just got another N64 to play Shadows of the Empire on (I LOVE that game ).....anyway, if I had to use that N64 for a portable (rather than some old N64 mobo I have lying around) and I couldn't play that game, well, I'd be pissed !!!

A long time ago (1998 or so) I accidentally flooded my N64 with beer and I had to open it up to dry it out. Well, we all know about the Nintendo screws, so I somehow opened the thing up but left it with a big hole cut in the top of the case. Anyway, if any N64 is asking to be ripped open and portabalized, this is it - but I won't do it for no other reason that sentiment (too many hours of Goldeneye, Pilotwings, and Blast Corps). Being that the systems are so cheap I'll probably just buy another and rip it apart.

Yep you broke it the exact same way I did perfectly yep you can't fix it i've tried and tried doesn't work . But on the bright side you can have an extra screen now incase you brake the new one

Getting back on topic, I am looking for the speaker amplifier used in the PSone screen. You could use your broken board as the source. That, combined with the speakers and volume buttons would make an excellent pair of headphones, as the speakers are fairly good for normal use, they should be great as headphones. You could even use an InfoLithium battery to power it, just cut off the parts of the screen board that don't amplify the power for the speakers and you have possibly the best headphone kit ever. Any takers?

i doubt the amp could be isloated....but its a good idea. you could use the speakers and a little 1w or 2w amp ( you can buy them as kits)
