does anyone know if you have to jumper something in the cable to get it to work. I have had not success with this as of yet. I could not even get the ipod video to show up on the screen.

Which iPod are you connecting to it? What exact model of Memorex video dock are you using? The screen may be expecting voltage from the iPod, and the iPod dock connector will be expecting different resistors, depending on model.
