Abnormal weather for yard sales such as cold weather. Can be a good thing, people may be more motivated to sell their stuff for cheaper prices. If little to no people have showed up at the yard sale due to the weather.

Dr. Killjoy likes this. Also, here's my two cents.
ADVICE: Don't forget about flea markets!
- They're like garage sales, but instead there's a bunch of them together in one place. Use this fact to your advantage when bartering (ie. if someone has something for sell that you want but the price is a little high, say "Hey man, I saw this thing at another dude's table for [insert price here]. What's the best price you'll do on it?").
- And people at flea markets tend to want to get rid of whatever they've brought; so hitting them up later on in the day can result in some great deals (assuming the stuff you wanted is still there).
- Last but not least, buying in bulk can save you big. If you get more than one item from a seller, they're usually more than happy to cut you a deal (keep in mind, they came all the way there from they're homes and paid the owner of the lot for a spot to set up; so they want to sell).

Another tip: A little kindness goes a long way. Usually if you buy an item on eBay from a personal seller, contacting them and talking to them nicely (for example: letting them know you're glad you can do business with them or how happy you are that you bought an item for such a good price), it will help you. The seller will be more understanding and generous if you have any problems, they'll keep you updated on shipping status, and based on quite a few personal experiences might even give you free upgraded shipping or include an extra gift.

Oh good advice! I always leave positive feedback but I never thought to contact the seller personally as a compliment! I use Ebay religiously so I will try that! Thanks for the tip BiasedBiased wrote:Another tip: A little kindness goes a long way.
