Deal Extreme allegedly has them in stock again. I still need to get a couple of school books so I wasn't going to buy one right away but looks like my willpower failed miserably haha.

Hmm, I really want one, and I do trust DX.

EDIT: For anyone that knows this stuff.

What do you suggest? The SmartQ 5 or the SmartQ 7? (Both have same hardware. But the SmartQ 7 has a bigger screen.)

If you need something to fit in your pocket, the 5 will be better (unless you have huge pockets). If you have bad eyes, the 7 should be much easier on them. My n800 (same size screen/resolution) took a bit to get used to and would make my eyes hurt a bit sometimes, but it wasn't unbearable. If you plan on doing major reading on it, get the 7 or plan on zooming in.

Doube post:

After much consideration and speaking with my parents, I bought the SmartQ 5 from PlaySmartSG.

It was about $60 more expensive then anywhere else, but every other retailer was either out of stock, or giving people false processing times. (Like DX)

I'll have it in 10-16 days. Tracking number coming soon too. Yay.

I'm sure I'll have a few questions to ask once I get it.

I ordered mine from DX on Sept 1st, and just shipped out today. 9-10 days to process and ship, while not the 2 to 5 days as promised (it says 1 to 3 now), it wasnt too bad considering people who have ordered months ago with still no status changes. Looks like I got lucky.

Nice! How do you like it?

I ordered one from http://www.playsmartsg.biz" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; on the 5th. It takes 10-12 days to ship. They gave me a free USB OTG Cable and a free screen protector.

smartq5 post!

received in the mai ltoday, its prety tiny lol

finger tapping is somewhat effective, im about 75% accurate, i keep missing the spacebar otherwise its better than i would have thought on seeing the keypad.

im also having trouble with the scrollbar, if you doubleclick it or press and hold it shoots to the bottom of the page. hopefully there is a setting to change that.

Wally, I ordered mine on like the 5th and got it yesturday. Score!

Also, wally, you can change the keyboard settings from "standard" to "finger". They keys will be bigger and easier to touch with your finger. To do that, go over the keyboard icon at the top and tap and hold. There you go!

And how is it? Battery life? Web browsing? Unexpected aspects?

Its nice. Starts up fast, has a nice word processor and nice spreadsheet.

The web browsing is nice, and actually pretty fast. Thumb typing is easy too, even when not on the "finger" mode.

Nice colors and such.

One thing I hate, is the calculator. It does not know how to do sin and cosine law. It actually produces wrong awnsers for that stuff. :(

the operating system is kind of sluggish, and i find it to be clunky. I don't know much about linux either so that's a problem, at least for me haha.

They are porting over Android so that will be cool.
