I'll be dual booting Fedora and Windows 2000.

I have a XP CD hanging around here somewhere with those special company codes so you can install them in a whole office. But I can't find it.

What is so funny about report cards?

Who uses all that space? I had a 250 GB HD in my last PC and it all went to waste. I only used about 5 GB for the OS' and I used maybe 30 GBs on videos and games. 2 GB on programs and applications then maybe 1 GB on random files.

That is only 38 GB, which means I really only need a 40 GB, 60 at most.

You might want to consider bumping up the graphics card as well if you want to play anything like Unreal Tournament 2003. I know, I had a 7500 for a couple years. Here it says that you can get a Radeon 9200SE 128MB for $45 shipped. 9200's aren't powerhouses but they're a heck of a lot better than a 7000.

It's your call, but for the tiny cash cost to increase the capacity many times over, it's definitely worthwhile.

I may just do it, as a rebound. But I won't go over 120 GB, I'll just be wasting my money if I go beyond that.

I am also looking in to TV capture cards, which would require me to have a larger harddrive.

And should I just use a case I already have and buy a PSU separate? With my last Case and PSU combo, people and I thought the PSU crapped out. I have yet to check, but I still think it has.

Can some post a reliable PSU at a good price?

That's kind of the thing with PSUs, the good ones cost more. When I bought my last PC I spent £100 on the PSU, because I was so sick and tired of putting up with bad PSU crap. It works like a charm and I consider it to be money well spent. If you've got a case already, buying another one does seem a bit of a waste - set yourself an amount you want to spend on the PSU, go to newegg, and see what you can get. Make sure it's active rather than passive.

Well I woudnt get sdram since its a bit old I would go with a drr ram from kingston tecnologies. ASUS are the biggeset motherboard manufacturer, with decent driver support in general, so your guy was speaking out of his ass.

Actually, frommy experience, Seagate and Hitachi are the best, whereas Maxtor and Western Digital suck. I've also talked to a lot of others who believe the same thing.

I agree with black six Seagates are quite good Maxtors are ok, Western Digitals are sometimes a little funkey but most are ok but they all still work well enoth for me to choose the cheapest one when in need of a new one

Actually, their budget PC for $599 is about twice as expensive as his and about the same in performance.
