Re: TF2 anyone?
Yeah, there's been a few changes since the Heavy update.
Sorry about not building a dispenser on top of Gravelpit C. It's pretty annoying when most of our team goes "hurr engie can fend for himself he has aimhax gun" and jerks off in no-man's-land while I'm stuck alone under heavy fire from the entire offense on B.
Ah well, what do you expect for pubs?
I'll probably be on again tonight, most likely on the Sons of Bedlam or Blue Turret server. (Most of the cool people from OWS left and formed BT.) Or maybe mingebagging it up in the 2F2F 24/7 Mario_Kart 100% crits instant respawn server.
(It's only bad if you're playing BLU and RED has snipers on the spawn.)

Re: TF2 anyone?
No.
100% crits with NATASCHA.
(They fixed the slowdown effect. Then broke it again. Then fixed it. Then nullified it. Now it's fixed again.)
EDIT: Wait, this started as a console thread. I feel bad now.

Re: TF2 anyone?
The topic was about "Team Fortress 2"; you're discussing the game in question.
Besides, if you hadn't turned it into more of a PC-oriented discussion, I would never have known "The Orange Box" was $10 for the weekend and I would never have even tried messing with "TF2" since I didn't want to spend $20 on it - I only spent about $2 instead!
That said, I'm going to do some more research/tinkering/etc. with the game to see if I can get it running decently.
EDIT: Okay, progress report time. I've done nothing for the past few hours but mess with settings and configs and seeing if anything I do helps, and miraculously, I've managed to get it a little bit closer to complete playability. (I'm not shooting for a constant 60 FPS in all maps; that'd be impossible - if I could get each map to run at 30 or even 20 FPS I'd consider that plenty good enough.) Gold Rush and Well are all right until I either leave the resupply (in the case of Gold Rush) or get to the central building in Well - at those times, framerate plummets to more-or-less unplayability. 2Fort seems to be the best map in terms of playability so far, but the framerate varies a lot: All alone in the resupply, I can manage about 25 FPS. Go out into the game, even when nobody's around, and it drops to 15 or even 10 at times. By myself in the Red sewer or the ramp leading down to their intelligence room (or, as my friends and I like to call it, the handicap), I got 40 FPS for a few moments before it dropped down to 15, and my framerate skyrockets during the freezecam shot of whoever killed me, typically reaching 100 FPS or so! Before I got tired of messing with it for the night, my framerate dropped as far down as 3 FPS: completely unplayable.
Unless I make some major discovery that lets me run the game better, I think I'm just gonna have to wait until I get a new computer to play this version and stick with the PS3 version if I want a version of the game I can actually play. Oh, well, can't complain for $2...
