Agreed. I was gonna have a fairly decent portable compared to the existing ones, but now everybody is vaccuum forming, and my case looks like crap.

Hey, we all start somewhere. I have several failed cases stored away, never to see the light of day again. I keep them to remind me what not to do... I have two failed Atari portable cases, a PSOne case that looks cool but wasn't the right size, and a Super Nintendo case based off of Ben's book that was a complete failure. I still haven't ever successfully vacuum formed a case. The important thing is that you just got to keep trying and know that if you do this stuff enough you'll learn what makes a good case and what doesn't.

No, lots of people talk about it, but not many have made cases by vacuum forming. The process is quite easy, but fairly expensive, especially with unavoidable rejects - also takes ages to make molds initially.
