I'm sold. It's just a little bigger than the DS. I wonder if it can run word...vskid wrote:If Triton's everun note intrigues you, but you don't like the price/battery life, you might like the Fujitsu U810. Not as beastly as the everun, but it'll get the job done. There is a video of it playing WoW on youtube. It'll even run Vista decently!
5.6" 1024x600 touchscreen (the dpi is actually less than the n810, so it shouldn't be too bad)
800MHz Intel A110 cpu
1GB RAM
40GB HDD
4-5 hour battery life
And the best part is the price, they go for $400 or less on ebay. The keyboard is a bit small, but I read one review that said you can thumb-type on it without much trouble. I plan on getting one when I finally get a job.
The tumor of a battery is the 4 cell, the 2 cell is flush with the back, but I don't think they
were released in the US.

I haven't been here in awhile, and looking back it's one of the worst ideas I ever had. I'm back and I'll be here for awhile, I was quite active 1 year ago and I hope to become that again.

Absolutely.DJ711 wrote:I wonder if it can run word...
The question is, would you want to? I find the Eee keyboard to be too small to easily work with for anything longer than a couple paragraphs; do you need to type on that thing with chopsticks or something?
Someone should make a tablet version of that thing.

I'm using my iPod Touch right now. If I can type fast and well on this then no keyboard is too small.bicostp wrote:Absolutely.DJ711 wrote:I wonder if it can run word...

Someone should make a tablet version of that thing.(I mean a dedicated, honest-to-[diety] slate tablet, not a "flip the screen around and fold it shut" tablet.)

The iPhone typing system is really awesome, and beats every other touch screen keyboard out there. Keep in mind that nothing compares.

That may be true but I prefer a real keyboard any day.

Re: internet tablets
back when i was looking t the u810 and similar they cost as much or more than my everun. personally i would rather have worse battery life and a bit more cost to have a MUCH MUCH more powerful computer. my everun will play portal at max settings(at 1024x600) in DX9 mode full speed when plugged in, and with cool n quiet turned off it will play it at medium settings nearly as well. it plays the game better than my desktop!Visit us at Portablesofdoom.org
