There will always be interest in console gaming evolution and systems; as with computing evolution. The issue is more to do with people wanting to play old games. Take the situation now for example, teenagers want to play games with great graphics but no gameplay - retro systems are the opposite; offering great gameplay and longivity, for those that are happy to give them a go.

A classic example are other systems - for example TurboGrafx - a great system, but few here have played it, so don't know it (so less interest, so system loses popularity and gets forgotten). In several years time, the same will be true for the NES, SNES and N64. Nostalgia is great whilst nostalgia is relevant, if you think about it. (now there's a quote!).

Is it just me, or have games become easy?

I remember being younger and I couldn't beat any games hardly (sonic just took too long for me) Now days I still can't beat them (maybe it's a lack of game saves?) But I can easily beat just about any game you throw at me today.

I think what people need to do is remake classic games (like how they do movies)

Could you imagine SMB3 in 2.5D with fully orchestrated music?

How about Ocarina of Time with today's standards of graphics?

agreed, i played the newest need for speed game (pro street?) against one of my friends who has owned it for a while and almost beat the game, head to head drift event and after 3 runs i was within a couple hundred points of his score! his score was around 4500 average, my first run was like 1200 points, second was around 3000 third was 3900!

my favorite consoles are still n64 and snes. hands down
