cheaper production. why produce something at full price if you can cut costs by making it better?

There should be homebrew applications that allow you to play video. I have one so I can watch DVDs and I think you can load movies from an SD or USB flash drive. Then again, the new firmware blocks the twilight hack used for installing the homebrew channel, so if you don't already have it installed then it won't be of use to you until a workaround exists.
