and that was Dec. 14

Mario started on his in the middle of November, and was over 20% done by then, as he already had worked on his batteries and screen(didn't look further, besides that I think that they are clearly more than 20% of the finished product).

Sorry, man.

SS
Just WHAT are you trying to pull here?

The closest post to Dec. 14 I made on the progress of my portable was this one. That was on Dec. 30. By that time I had made the battery. The screen hadn't even been opened. That was the only work I had done.

I really hope that was just a misunderstanding, and nothing more, ShockSlayer. :(

I agree.

By the start of this, Mario had only a complete Battery Pack.
No other work had been done at that point, according to his Worklog, which is plenty detailed for me to believe he's more than qualified for this.

Now, he had done a small amount of work on a dead PSOne LCD.
Simply cutting down the mobo is all, and even then, it was no more than a dry run, he wasn't accomplishing anything at that point. It served as nothing more than a concept.

I think that it's funny that you used a gucci box to make your portable  and what is with the edit on that post on march 10 2009?

I'm not choosing sides, well maybe a little, but I'm mostly indifferent on this.

Code: Select all

1. Shockslayer's ZN-40 GCp
2. Mario's N64p
3.asdfjkl;'s N64p
1. Attacknick's Red Alert GBA
2. Madhacker's modded GBA
I was torn on voting on the portables but I voted for shockslayer at the end because his was on higher difficulty than Mario's N64 and it was one of shockslayers best portables. asdfjkl; is kind of looking like shockslayers's first portables and I even though I voted for him last I have a feeling that he is the next shockslayer. Also to add I think Mario should be in this contest! Also on another note Attacknicks red alert looks awesome and Mario's is pro bally comfortable to play but I wish there were more hardware mods than graphic mods! You guy's all made cool stuff and I hope one day you guy's will be voting for me!

Honestly, it was to get the post number so I could link directly to it. I hit edit, submit, then view my post. If you don't believe me, look at Google's cache:

That does look awfully suspicious. Shoulda thought about that beforehand.

You cut up your screen, and LED modded it before you did the battery pack. :(

No, he did that to a dead screen.
It was a practice run.
Read his posts dude.

I call shenanigan! He could have easily used the LCD! That counts!

Well, to put it into perspective:

Console 25%
Screen 25%
Battery 25%
controller 5%
case 20%

So there! I'm not sure why I'm pursuing this, but I am!

I'm trying to eliminate the competition. HAHAHAHAHA!

You know for the price of one of your portable N64's, you could buy roughly 10 - 30 of those flashcarts.
Or 4 - 15 of a nice high-end one.

Anyway, seriously, no.

Console 25%
Screen 25%
Battery 25%
controller 5%
case 20%
Waaaay off as far as I'm concerned.
I don't think there's an absolute scale for this, it all depends on what you're doing.

Look at the PSOne LCD.
Many are totally unmodified.
You run, what, 5 wires off of it, and that's all she wrote.
Or of course, do the LED mod, that's a bit of work, but not much.
Or go all the way, like one of Sifuf's, where he's hacked that thing down to it's absolute basics, hours and hours of work have gone into it.

All a matter of perspective.

Mario had cut up a battery, and hacked it into a "battery pack" of sorts.
Compare that to all the other work he did on the rest of his portable, I can't imagine it's even as much as 10% of the working hours he put into the thing.
