Just wondering, but, is it possible to trickle charge li-ions? Will they do fine?

For me I don't think so seeing as how the charger was only made for the battery and not to power anything else at the same time.

How chargers work is that they supply a voltage that is higher then the cells they want to charge. They supply this voltage at a rated current. The charger will cut off when the voltage difference gets to a certain point (ie battery reaches 7.4V or whatever). As long as the amperage rating of the charger is not exceeded then you should be fine. All my portables that are lithium powered can be played and charged at the same time. No one has blown up yet.

If the voltage is higher than the battery and I ran it in parallel so it charges the batter and the console, doesn't that mean I'm risking breaking the ps1 screen if I don't use a regulator?

PS1 screen can accept up to 8.4V if I am not mistaken.

The max is 9 volts, but even .1 of a volt above that will blow it.Rekarp wrote:PS1 screen can accept up to 8.4V if I am not mistaken.
