Very cool, what did you use to design the case?

I designed it with my mind. I drew it with Photoshop.
And a ruler.

I sat at my desk for like, 3 hours.
I measured stuff, and then drew them each in a new document.
It's kind of disappointing that you can't see it, but I drew everything underneath to scale.

So you drew it on paper and then transfered it into photoshop. I'd go insane if I had to do that.

No, I didn't draw it by hand.
Here's the basic process.

Measure D pad
Measurement- One axis= 2.5cm x 2.5cm, 1cm wide crosses
Photoshop->new document=2.5cm x 2.5cm
Draw D pad
Copy onto large document

Measure something else

Etc.

If you are going with side loading, I say do what my old case did, and have the screen way off center.

I hope this turns out well for you. Also, you just solved my C button problem: I can do what bacteria suggested (Use a dpad) and paint it yellow! Genius!

I saw when Bac recommended that in your thread. At first, I thought "THEIF," but then I decided that sharing is caring. Individual discovery for the greater good of the group! Now, design a really great LED backlight system for me and we'll call it even.

What do you do when you don't feel motivated to work?Because that's me all the time.
This project might take a while.

Oh, and I still need to know-
Can having the heat dissipators in close proximity to my LiPos damage them?
This is pretty important.

Depends how hot your heatsinks get. With good airflow it should be okay, even good for the batteries.

I'm glad someone finally replied.
I'd be lying if I said I hadn't been refreshing every 5 seconds.

I'm considering putting in a small fan now.
I'll see if I have space.

I took apart some controllers, got a pretty tiny controller board out of one of these:


Can't get my camera to work, pictures soon.

Oh, I also organized my desk.
I've been getting some stuff done while I wait for replies and put off soldering the cart slot.
I seriously don't want to do that.

When I look at the forums, I don't get motivated, I just refresh until there's something new to read.

welcome to my world all of the forums just stay lit up for me though because I was inactive in the past few months. all that is the past now.

I know what you mean about not wanting to relocate the cartslot, I relocated it on one board, then my cousin rips it off, and the board falls to the floor undoing everything I had soldered to it. Now I'm really dreading relocating the cartslot.


I reccomend that you relocate the cartslot, because cart sticking out of the back=lazyness, uglyness, crappyness, an incomplete portable. IMO

There is NO QUESTION of relocation, it's only a matter of time.

I've got some pretty great ideas that could result in a reeeeeediculously thin portable.
The only problem is, of course, the batteries. I might break down and only use 4000mAh, and save the other battery some other time.

That has got to be the most erotic looking controller I've ever seen. Seriously though, I've never seen that type before.

Mine was glow-in-the-dark and had a dead spider in it.
The textured surface had grime in all of the little divots, and the turbo only worked for the start button.

But opening it was quite an erotic experience, I must confess.

Not sure about the circuits, but that controller looks like the one I just recently modded to use a gc stick, you should invest in that.
