32Bit VS 64Bit OSes

While I prefer to use XP over Vista just about any day of the week, in the 64-bit arena Vista does beat XP. The drivers for devices that are out there for Vista are far more numerous and reliable then the few for XP-64. I have yet to fool around with the Windows 7 Beta, but if that has compatible drivers with Vista, it might be something worth looking at.
I myself have an older laptop, AMD64, 2GB RAM (maxed) and 80gb HDD. Think I should bother installing a 64-bit OS. I'm due for a reinstall, and unless I can find a cracked version of OSx86 that will see my hard drive (PATA) I'm thinking of installing the 64-bit version of Ubuntu and maybe, just maybe install the beta. If not I'll look for TinyVista, as I'm not interested in messing with XP-64.
