Well, yes, of course. I was referring to a portable unit, as opposed to a wired-controller console. Sorry, should have made that more clear.

I wonder if this forum only lets you use .png format for image posting... hmm. Nope.

I know you weren't asking me, but I would figure it would depend on the application - they are simply referring to the area where you would typically have the display. If you'd be using a small display, or no display at all, then you would use the flush/textured case. Otherwise, the recessed option would look a lot cleaner.

I could be completely full of it.

Hmmm... my understanding is that the smooth is for etched graphics and textured is for consistency and grip. But I'm also not sure at all haha, never seen one in person. I like how one of the colors is "bone" though...

The smooth option is for the recessed, smooth area where a display would typically reside. The textured option has the non-recessed, textured area to match the rest of the case. In other words, the cases would look identical save for the area where the display would reside.

Finally got the pics working correctly.

Ok, time to go get the house ready for my son's birthday tomorrow.

Success on the case problem.

While looking around the house, I ran across an old Vtec learning game system thing that I had gutted a long time ago for the explicit purpose of putting something else inside it.

This is going to turn out rather well, methinks:

Plenty of room. An add-on piece will have to be made for the cart slot, but eh.. whatcha gonna do.

Case looks nice, but doesnt look like there will be a lot of room for the controls though. Whats your thoughts on that?
