Good job Bibin, but WTF!?!11

WHY? I worked hard on this, figured out how to remove the reflective layer, used a WAY better backlight (A DS Lite one), AND DID IT FIRST!!!

This is why I hate Engadget. All this time spent, and they choose this one.

I am really pissed right now.

As I said in the other thread, I can understand where he's coming from. He spent a lot of time working on this, I'm sure he'd like some of the spotlight as well.

Trick is to post what you want to be posted when you want to post it. You are in control of information about your own projects. This is the reason, even when my PSone is finished, I won't post pics of the front and back of the system with its final look, until everything is ready for publicity - otherwise it might get posted on other sites before it should be and put me under a lot of pressure and ending up rushing things. By keeping important information until the end, you keep control of your project.

If you are working with others in "a team" you need to be able to actually work as members of a team. That means being a team and presenting a final work as a joint effort.

For example, one of the members here has involved me in a project he is working on, he can help me and I can help him; yet I don't discuss anything about the project with others, who it is with or what it is for as I am not like that - I keep secrets. When the system is done (if it gets further down the line and he is successful in his part) I will present the finished project when finished in a few months time, as a joint venture, and give the guy full credit for his work and take credit of course for my part of the work. He will also be fully involved in the presentation with me - joint project and dual involvement.

Working with someone in a project, then presenting a finished article as just your own work, to "pip to the post" is not satisfactory, if that is what happened: and only causes a bad taste in the mouth. If however, the two projects were done independently, and palmertech posted too much information to enable Bibin to finish first, well, that's life. If palmertech's work is better, it will get recognition too.

Ehh, uh, Palmer, I kinda started this and figured out how to remove the backing first, as well as made the first backlight, regardless of quality. You also failed to send them an email containing links to the pictures and a description.

I have seen your original pics. Regardless of quality, you had a good 30% of the reflective backing still on in the middle of the screen. You did not figure out how to remove the backing till I helped you.

Also, I did not send them a link because, as per your instruction, I thought we were going to make a tutorial before whoring it out to the gadget blogs. It was not a failure on my part, I was just waiting for you to finish it all the way, as you needed to still remove some adhesive.

And that quote "Harder than reasoning with a rabid PS3 fanboy" concerning the reflective removal? Especially considering that you had given up on this for months before I helped you out with the toothpaste method, you could have given me a wee bit of credit on that.

Again, congratulations, but I really think you should have gave a bit of credit to me, or better yet, linked to both of ours. I would have sent it in myself, I do have the capacity, I was not doing it because I thought you were planning on making a tutorial with me. Just submitting it as your work, and giving yourself full credit as doing something as difficult as reasoning with a ps3 fanboy with no mention of the person who did a better looking mod, before you, then helped you do it yourself over chat is just not cool.

1. Incorrect. It was all removed, but the light was horribly spread.
2. We told people about it, just didn't make a guide yet. Heck, you posted yours first.

I did post mine first, but I still thought we were going to write a guide before whoring it out to the gadget blogs; Would have made a better story. Otherwise, I would have submitted mine the second I finished; It is not hard to do, and more pics+vid is not hard to accomplish.

Ah, I thought it still had film on it. My mistake. I do not think you could call it "Finished" though, I recall it being in pieces, and boy did it look awful.
