The hard drive is long fried and gone, and I don't have the power cable anymore. I never tried anything with the laptop after the HD fried, so I have no idea about it anymore.

the tin came from an order I made for a USB mp3 player, but now that you mention it, that tin could indeed work as a small project enclosure......

Depth - 14/16 inch
height - 4 11/16 inches
width - 3 1/2 inches

that's with the cover on
