Eh, Opera's great for my EEE, and anything with any substantial muscle runs FireFox in my house. I love me my add-ons!

Just what I wanted... another browser I'm going to end up having to test my websites in and worry about W3C compatability and rendering differences.

I'm not going to try it out yet... I'm gonna wait for a bit and see what other people are saying about it, but it seems like the general opinion is positive.

I just hope it doesn't end up blowing FF out of the water... I'm too attached to FF and if this new thing ends up being better, I'll have no defense to still use FF.

Firefox forever!

After trying it for a few hours, I have to agree with you. It seemed to slow down at least as much as FF with a similar amount of tabs open, and FF has a few extensions and no ads.
Good idea, but as of now, not as good as the competition (FF and Opera). I'll try it out in a week or two and see if it has improved.

Wouldn't multiple processes make it better suited for a multi-core machine?

I tried it, it seems fast, but for Youtube or any other Flash based streaming video, it just freezes up for a while, then unfreezes, then freezes again... Not good. I'll stick with Firefox until that gets cleared up. It's a start though.

Maybe it's because most of you have these awful Pentium-III based single-core laptops with slow busses and very low amounts of ram that a multi-core processor-optimized browser is not able to perform as well?

Maybe some of use thought that Google knew that to just surf the web, all you need is a P3. I guess I'm not missing much if a dual core CPU can't run FF blazing fast enough for people, my P3-m handles it just fine.

My P-II runs FF fine... as long as I'm not on some Web 2.0 site.

And my 1.2GHz Celeron runs any website wonderfully with multiple tabs open.

well running firefox 2 on my 256mb ram 1.4ghz p4 desktop it starts CRAPPING ITS PANTS after a few hours runing firefox as it TAKES UP ALL THE PHYSICAL RAM. i would try chrome but see the following

a note to developers in general QUIT MAKING THINGS FOR ONLY XP/VISTA. honestly how freaking hard is it to allow windows 2k to use those apps too! poop egress

I'm all for Google everything besides the looks of Chrome just look like crap. I'll be sticking with FF3 for the time being.

It's too sparse for me. Firefox has far too many extensions/features to justify anything else.

It's the skinning engine. Seriously; that's it. That is the only reason.

Chrome is sparse because it's a beta! It's not finished!

Sure, and my Pentium 1 Dell Inspiron 3000 with 128MB ram runs chrome wonderfully, simultaniously browsing benheck forums, watching a video on homestarrunner.com, and using gmail.
