So what games DO run in 1080p?

It is definitely a fair question. It is amazing how difficult it becomes to answer when trying to dig around online for answers though.

Even games like GT5:Prologue that one would think would run in 1080p don't. Makes me begin to wonder if there are ANY games that run in true 1080p.

I think it is more important just that games are in HD. There is such a huge difference between SD and HD. The differences between 720p or 1080i and 1080p are less obvious for the most part and thus less of an issue. Just my opinion speaking there...

To be completely honest..

I'm pretty sure I've only played HD a few times..

No shame in that. You will someday and when you do it will be cool.

In all honesty there are some games that I love to play that HD does very little for. Games like Guitar Hero 2 & 3 and Rock Band see little benefit from HD. The best thing for these games is just to have a large screen so there is plenty of room for all of the note charts.

Other games HD makes a big difference for. It has greatly enhanced games like Lost Planet, BioShock, and Oblivion for me. I remember playing Lost Planet in SD and not really even being able to use the onscreen radar during MP. Once I got HD it was crystal clear and helped make the game even more enjoyable. Just an example.

Long story short, to see the benefits of HD in gaming it really depends on what type of games you like to play.

The only reason I'm shameful is because I have a DLP 1080p projector sitting behind me that hasn't had ANY HD input into it yet
