many people have done it. it just takes patience and a steady hand.

No, they replaced it with an entirely different one. I'd like you to show me one transplant of a nomad screen from one to another.

What, finding handheld game systems in the toilet? If that's a regular occurance, you need to change your diet in a hurry.

I'm not sure it's the diet that's the problem.....

Seriously, what is the difference between putting in a new Nomad screen, and an entirely different screen? Both require massive amounts of fine soldering and patience.

Why would you even want another Nomad screen? Passive-matrix screens SUCK!

Why not swap in an AEI Components LCD module connected to the TV-Out port? ([link]) They're active matrix and LED backlit, so the Nomad will run longer on batteries and have a non-smeary screen. (Killing two birds with one stone.)

All I'm trying to say is that people certainly have not transplanted them, whereas I was told they have, which is quite incorrect.

where have you gathered your info to be so certain people have not transplanted them? i happen to know a few ppl who have taken "broken" nomads, transplanted the screen from one to the other, to end up with one working one. you need to not assume that NOBODY has done something when it is so obvious that it could have been done.

and it's done to the game gear too. don't believe me? go have a look around the sms power forums.
