Hard drive. Sort of pissed because I can't rename it without the previous owners password. (My mom's friend's daughter. I doubt the mom knows it, the daughter's at college)

If there's one thing I hate about laptops, its the frikin hinges. They're either so loose that the screen just flops down when you open it, or so stiff that they destroy the case when you open/close it. Few plastic cases last more than a few years without at least cracking.

Still, I really wish I knew people like that. My uncle and grandparents have each given me a desktop with a Pentium 166 in them, but thats about the extent of my good fortune.

Not to totally kill your self esteem, but this is my 3rd time getting a free laptops. I have 4 now. Two iBooks, and two Toshiba's. One Toshiba works but the screen is very messed up, my aunt dropped it, that's why she gave it to me. And the whole iBook story takes up this thread. I also got a Toshiba PocketPC which worked for a while, then just crapped out for no reason.

I got a free laptop from one of the guys from my dads work. Kept on overheating so i did the ghetto mod of sticking a vacum cleaner by the fan vent and sucking all the dirt and fluff out of it. And presto, one high spec working laptop

Two of my mates have a certain asus gaming laptop (couple of years old now) that won't even switch on if there's a build up of dust on the heat sink.

Anyway ibook, panther 10.2 is supposedly fine on the clamshell so it might be worth getting hold of a copy and you could mod it and make the case clear as I saw one on ebay like this and it looked so cool
