DO any of your parents play Video games?
Moderator: Moderators
My dad plays video games all the time, probably more than I do on weeks that he doesn't have to work. He's the reason I have a PS3! I got him Timeshift and Unreal Tournament 3 for Christmas, and he loves them. He plays a lot of shooting games, mostly James Bond, but he really likes Resistance since getting the PS3. So yeah, he's not like every other dad around... My mom on the other hand doesn't care too much about video games, but she likes playing Rock Band sometimes, and likes old school NES games like Super Mario.
It's funny how your like thirty years older than me yet my dad is almost as old as yoursbacteria wrote:My parents are in their 70's now, Mum never played games, Dad (when he was about my age now) bought Pong

My dad has been gaming since he got the Atari 2600 back in the day. He's tapered off a lot since then, but over the years we've gamed together with things like Lode Runner, Diablo, and Halo. He's not the best at them, but we have fun usually.

yeah, "Back when computers weren't boxes, or things you can put in your pocket. Back when I was in the army, computers were rooms, and walls" according to my grandpa. He's computer savvy though. He jumped right onto the internet when it came out. Sold this one domain recently for $20,000!

My parents used to be gamers, back when the Spectrum 48k first came out... I'm not sure if americans have heard of it. The only games my dad plays now on PC are usually simulation and management games. Although he played a game of FIFA 08 with my brother on 360
, it took him ages to get to grips with dual analog
, as they've always been the home computer sort. My mom has never really been into video games herself though. We used to have an Amiga as well, my dad would play some games on that, like Dune II, and when we got a PC, he'd play Command & Conquer as well (he's a huge fan), when I shown him C&C3 last year he was amazed by it
(as would anyone else who hasnt seen a C&C game since the original Red Alert lol), because of this, my parents dont have any problem with me gaming and see no harm in it, which means I get the games like Manhunt, GTA etc.
Seriously, my mom even hates Jack Thompson!
