Why not just leave it as-is, put it on some article of clothing, and program a message in?

I went to my Best Buy, they didn't have any.
I'll have to check back in a week or two.

My Best Buy had a couple, but when the cashier scanned them it spat out an invalid product error, so they couldn't sell it to me. :( (The total came out to $20.99 and I had $21 on me, it would have worked out perfect, too.) I think ol' BB is catching on...

No matter, I already have something similar a friend gave me because the battery died. (All it needed was a couple AAAs.)

you might as well learn how to use them.

open the datasheet.

http://www.mstracey.btinternet.co.uk/pi ... icmain.htm
http://www.winpicprog.co.uk/pic_tutorial.htm

are some tutorials for assembly language. You can also use languages like BASIC or C, but you have to 'buy' a compiler in most cases.

You need a programmer too. The free one on marshall's site (www.retroactive.be) has worked for me, but it has also fried a bunch of chips.

or you could buy one of those too. check ebay.

I went and got 14 today. I can ship them to anyone who needs one, but I'm saving 10 to give away at my local 2600 meeting.
