there are a few kids at my school that claim they've gotten it early.
it started with one kid who went to the local walmart and asked the manager if he'd sell him halo 3. he said no, then when he was alone walked up to him and told him to come in the back, where he sold him the $60 version for $90. a few other kids claim they've done the same thing now.

Wow, what a copulate' rip. Why would you pay 30 dollars extra for 2 days early? That's almost as big of a scam as the iPhone.ganonbanned wrote:there are a few kids at my school that claim they've gotten it early.

Yeah, I said it.

I've seen 1 or 2 in my life time, all the others are closed down and rotting in small towns, those are the ones I see.benol wrote:I've never even seen a 7-Eleven in my life.Twisted Warthog wrote:I always like to get games on their official release dates. I bought Halo 3 at midnight and played through the campaign in about 11 hours straight. I loved it, definitely one of the best games I've played in a while, if not the best. Bungie did a perfect job with the gameplay and the story. I thought it was wrapped up perfectly.
Highly recommended!
Anyone else beat it yet? If you have, be kind to others, no spoilers!

campaign
hmm. My friend and I beat level 7 (of 9) in 5 hours. I wonder if co-op makes it a lot easier. It seemed kind of short to me, but then again much of Halo 2's length was spent toiling in endless mazes. All things considered, it's a great game. I'll probably play through it again on single-player so I can really listen to the story.I bought Halo 3 at midnight and played through the campaign in about 11 hours straight
The dogfight (level 7, i believe) was my favorite part. I really look forward to the UNSC heli-fighter (the "Hornet" after some research) in multiplayer.

*scratches head* that's it?
This game hardly differs from the much hyped Halo 2. Having played it on 1080p, it didn't even look that impressive! Not like I had much hopes for the game, but I couldn't see my self buying a 360 like I did with Halo 1 (and camping out for the game like I did with Halo 2).
Somewhat disappointing, maybe it'll grow on me though after leeching off my friend that bought it.

Re: campaign
Yes, co-op does make it easier, because there's about the same number of enemies whether you play solo or co-op, so I had twice as many guys to kill as you. Also, what difficulty did you play on? I was doing Heroic, which was personally pretty challenging in a couple spots. I'm definitely not an amazingly-skilled gamer though, plus I tend to take my time, especially since I've been looking forward to it for so long.grahamwheat wrote:hmm. I liked the Hornet part too, much better than the Banshees IMO.
Really, you didn't think it looked good? While playing through there were several places I just looked around and said 'wow.' as far as gameplay, of course it's like Halo 2, that's the idea! For me, it seems enough like Halo 1 and 2 to be nice and familiar, but with some nice new features. I liked the level design a lot more than Halo 2, and was reminded at a few points of some of the better levels in Halo 1. As far as the story goes, it blew Halo 2 out of the water, especially the ending.Skyone wrote:*scratches head* that's it?

I went with a friend to pick up his copy of the game at midnight. It was at a GameStop across the street from my college's campus, so of course there was a nice long line. We played until 4:00 am. It was great! And what did we do the next day after waking up? That's right, we played some more. I really really like the firebomb grenades and pulling turrets up and walking around with them
