Doesn't anyone but me find it creepy how Bacteria's in his 40s and is hanging out with 10-16 year olds? (The majority, at least, is below 16)

First thing to do would be decide what you want and then make sections for people to work on. THEN you assign them to people.

How about something really crazy, since it's a group effort, like a FC Twin and N64? In a briefcase! With googlie eyes!

I might help, if you end up doing a Dreamcast, I know my way around them pretty well. Although I don't have much rep around here seeing as I never completed a project yet as I'm poor :P If you do a Dreamcast, for the controller I suggest a Quantum Fighter pad, their really easy to work with, D-pad, analog stick, face buttons, start button, and triggers are all separate boards, and all pretty small.

(Speaking of controllers I need to make a new arcade stick for my DC, sold the one I made to my cousin.)

If you're using a briefcase as a case, you should go all the way and throw everything he has into it.

Every system ever made inside of a trunk. With a 100" HD LCD TV. But the only one in existence isn't for sale, so let's make one of those too!

Make sure the screen is one of those flexible ones, so it can roll up.

What do ya think, jeff? Do you have enough for that?

I'm really busy right now, but I'm sure I can find a few spare hours during the weekend or something. So count me in, this sounds fun. :P

Hmmm, I was hoping for a bit more of a response. Unless I made a mistake that is only 2 fully qualified participants (thanks for the support guys), I'll give it maybe another day to see if anyone else signs up, but it's now looking like this might not get off the ground. I wonder if I should take my funds & make a play for the Nintari.....

Here is a recap of the scenario...

Qualified and on Board (2)-

Skyone - "I'm down for it if others are."
CronoTriggerfan - I'm really busy right now, but I'm sure I can find a few spare hours during the weekend or something.

On the fence-

Kurt_ - I'd pitch in bbut I'm in Canada.
Triton - depending on what you decide to build i may be interested in helping out
timmeh87 - Ill sign on as a 'consultant' if you want. Maybe a 'designer'

Willing to help, but not sure about experience level.

nightwheel - "Is there anyway I can help with this project"
dragon - havent finished a portable yet but i might be able to help figure out problems.
PeglegJimmy - I might help, if you end up doing a Dreamcast.
jackfb13 - Hmm i could help with simple stuff...

While I haven't finished any portables yet, I am experienced, and not too bad at soldering. unfortunately I live in germany, and I really don't wanna do the shipping costs to you. So yeah, I'll probably just watch the project. Sounds interesting indeed.

No, not at all considering he's making a portable. If he was just one of the members like myself who have yet to do anything portable wise then yeah it would be very creepy. Dragon, what are you going to figure out that noone else can?

I don't see what's wrong with that at all?
He "hangs out" with people who share his hobby. I mean, why would he go to other people in their fourties if they don't care about portabilisation (or video games at least) at all?

Uhm, I hate to contribute to something off topic, but I don't think anything negative should be said about someone based on their age.

I'm 36, is that "Creepy"?
I'm married & have 2 kids (I fully enjoy playing video games with them) I started coming to this site after I came across ben's book in the book store. It (the book) gave me a very nostalgic feeling, especially as I had a 2600 growing up.

So I'm a bacteria supporter (the forum member not the organism)! Go Bacteria!

Working with my compadres (Triton, CTFan) in a project would be awesome, and obviously with everyone else too. Honestly, I don't need any money - it would be joy enough to work with other members. (just the money for shipping, then)

I don't care what type of portable it is, really. It would be quite cool if we designed something intense like an XBox portable - but considering your budget, a Dreamcast or something else challenging would be interesting.

Oh, and it's not creepy. I speak for the other half of the forums that couldn't care less.

Anyways, let us know what you truly want. Remember, you can cut me out for cost.
