I followed the link, turns out that the Epic lawyers thought it was a commercial product, because of the quality and packaging, when Epic were told it was a one-off fan made gift an apology was given. So it must be ok to make the fan dolls, for non-commercial use.

It is with our deepest regret that we have to announce the closure of the Chrono Resurrection project. Square Enix Co., Ltd issued a Cease and Desist letter which means the project is publicly closed indefinitely.

Although I've been in touch with the developers of the game over the past few years, and they did continue working on it, and it's nearly done; they just aren't going to release it to the public. It really is a shame.

They should just release a torrent of it, and then theres no way to stop it from spreading.

Whether they want it to or not, I'll bet that's what'll happen.

What irks me the most, is that these companies have no plans whatsoever to ever release anything like this.

Please don't consider this going on a fanboy trip, but Blizzard loves it when people make dolls/costumes/whatever of their stuff.

I remember people wanted a Murloc doll for soooo long from Bliz, and they didn't make them, and someone made a Murloc plushy and everyone fell in love with it and so did Bliz. There was no freakout cease order.

Oh well. I'm no expert anyway.
