Power Problem...

I had a similar problem after I opened up my second SNES. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get power to the 7805 through the original power jack. My solution was to solder leads directly to the hot and ground of the 7805. After I did that, it started running like a champ.

I almost forgot. If you're not sending power into the SNES through the original jack, you might have reversed the polarity and fried the 7805. I did that on my first attempt at a portable SNES because I got the ground and the hot reversed. Nintendo used a dc power supply that has the positive outside the ground (what I like to call backwards) instead of having the ground outside the positive (what I like to call normal).
