If there were ever a thread we should keep around to illustrate that you shouldn't ask to be a mod, this would be it. Not only, no offense intended, is the person requesting it far from what the board would require out a person in that position of power/authority, but it's also made clear by other members that we have all the moderators we need.
And a word of advice to anyone hoping for such a position, asking is going to greatly reduce your chances of being considered should an opening even appear.
