Ok from the look of the DCp all I can make out is the power supply is hand-built. I saw a small pcb board with a regulator and two capaciters on it. So you can I guess make your own using a 7812, 7805 and a 3.3v regulators, or go with what Gannon suggested and get an ATX power supply. Take note that its extra for the AC adapter.

nope, not hand-made, Nintendo-made
............it's a GC power supply (at least, I think it is), and I tried hooking up one of mine to the DC and.....it worked
!!!!!!! so cennar, for a cheap power supply just get a GC one
. Here's where you can find them for only $10
. (the gc power supply outputs 1.9v, 3.4v, 5v, and 12v, so it'll work fine
.....at least, I hope it does

*I'll only be able to check how much the GC actually needs, however, so it won't necessarily be the highest amperage possible for the voltages........anyone know how I can check the maximum amperage for the voltages?

ok, I measured the amperage the GC consumes on the 5v and 3.4v lines (1.9v isn't used in the DC and the 12v line's maximum amperage is that of the 12v source so I didn't measure the draw on those voltage lines). The highest draw for the 5v line I saw was about 1.2A as it started, then dropping down and staying around 800 mA. The 3.4v line stayed at around 690 mA. These are not necessarily the maximum amperages of these voltages lines, however, so does anyone know how to measure that? I would love to know if the GC power supply is capable of powering an N64

you mean wire two 7.2v batteries in series? well, if you do that then you're putting 14.4v into the 12v line of the DC rather than 12, as the GC power supply doesn't convert the inputting voltage. perhaps the DC will still run off 14.4v, though.......I guess it should, seeing as dkap01 used two 7.2v RC car batteries.....
