Guys, don't take this the wrong way, but there shouldn't be ANY problem getting a Wii at launch. There will be plenty available, and unless it's somehow magically a thousand times more popular than the Gamecube, 4 million units should last awhile.

So just wait! And save your $50.

I think pre-orders are overrated. You blow extra money for a console that's going to go down in value right after christmas. As if waiting an extra month or two will kill me.

the 50$goes towards the console when you pick it up, so i really see no point in not trying to preorder

It has taken about a year for the 360 to even mention dropping their price, so it does take a little longer than just a few months. This is the first console that I've been excited about in decades! The only other one was the NES. The Wii is different enough for me to enjoy something new and refreshing. Maybe I can get those old feelings again like when I played my first NES games. Dang, 20 years is a long time.

Am I the only one who until today didn't know that the Wii has wireless internet connectivity built in?

They just added wifi to the dorms I live in this semester...
