Colorado's rule is if you don't take driver's ed, you can't get your permit until 15 1/2, and you have to hold your permit for at least one year before getting a license, so most people get their licenses about 16 1/2 here. In order to get your license you must log 50 hours driving, and once you get your license, you cannot drive with anyone else in your car for 6 months. After that, its another six months until you can drive as many people as you want.
