I'm pretty sure it can..the bottom might be a little flat, but other than that it could. Hate to burst your bubble but this has been around for a while (my uncle is a CAD Drafter for The dept of energy)
Anyway you have to design each part seperately and the buy and expensive molding apparatus (I dunno if you can buy plans on the net for one on a smaller scale) But he does stuff for like REALLY big projects (Like nuclear storage tanks and the like)

haha...i never said it was anything new, but I will soon have access to one. You dont need to make parts separately...it builds it "from the ground up" adding layers in the correct places.

We all know its been around for a while, but how many of us have had the chance to use this technology? You aren't bursting any bubbles here, besides perhaps your own.
Unless I'm mistaken, that printer uses the same technologies as a "rapid prototyping machine." It creates contiguous parts by either applying or solidifying layers of plastic tiny fractions of an inch thick. So, yah, if you have a complex machine, you'd need to make many individual parts, but these parts can often be made during the same run.

it's similar, but it's done differently. A stereolithography machine uses a special liquid resin tank and a laser slowly hardens the layers to make the shape.
