Dont know, it seems that I'm the only person that is 100% sure that its 7808 as I've looked and it uses a 12v input form the AC adapter.

78xx will not work (proply) unless 2v over its output in its input, so if you have a 7805 you need 7 atleast if you have 7808 you need 10. You can use an LDO and us 9.6v input, but beyond that I havent a clue what you'll do to get the voltage lower.

I think its impossible unless you use a 5volt or 8 volt switching regulator mine took 6v and turned it into 5v

yup 9 volt did it guys. thank you

now on to the next part, which looks much harder, hooking up the screen to the snes to get video. I have the lcd monitor running on batteries so now I just need to get the monitor hooked up to the snes. how would I go about doing that since the monitor is hooked up to a circuit, which has a few wires coming out of it? Any idea on how to do the next part?

care to elaborate on that?

oh theres a yellow, brown, white, red and black wire coming out of the lcd screen.

now i figured out the white, black, red are for sound (and maybe power). now the yellow would make sense if it was for video, the brown still no idea. just don't know how to hook them up to the snes.

okay I found a pinout, so how do I go about connecting it now?
