Dropped a 9v battery in water (you kind of know the rest

Got shocked by a camera flash capacitor.
Tried to pry off a heatsink off a video card and lifted up the whole chip (didn't I tell that to you on AIM Skyone?)

My favorite though was when a resistor randomly exploded for an unknown reason. All of the coiling inside flew out.

Most of these except for the heatsink was when I was 8 years old and getting started in electronic work (the bad 'ol days of putting connections together with electrical tape)

I've never had any realy big explosions, but here's one from my uncle:
One time he had rigged up his own little charging unit for a small watch battery, then he left it to charge for a while. When he came back... The battery was lodged in the damn ceiling!

Did it produce a small amount of hydrogen and oxygen? If you added salt it may even make a small amount of chlorine gas

That'd be my guess as well, but that doesn't seem like the dramatic thing he seems to be referring to.

Odds are the Battery lets the acid into the water.

anyway

A friend was smashing a battery when i was little, the thing flew up in the air, and started sqirting acid (this was a NEW battery), some got in my hair, and also burnt through my shirt, hurtting my nipples.

I was hoping that you guys would think it exploded.

Actually all it did was pop and leak acid.

EDIT: Fanboy should tell us about the time he put 120v straight into the N64 12v and 3.3v!
