well i contacted frys near my house and they said they carry 3mm white leds so im going to go check there very soon. if you have a frys nearby try calling them

I was wondering about that too...i suppose if you have too little intensity, the bulbs will be ineffective; however, if you have high intensity bulbs (the ones on ebay were around 18,000 mcd, which is probably overkill), your screen may actually be to bright to see anything.
I heard somewhere that an improvement to the LED mod was to line the backlight case with aluminum foil to disperse light (but the foil has to be flat, or else you get uneven light areas...). I am probably going to try this method once i can actually figure out these LED perameters.
Daguuy helped me before with all of this crap, so i must play my magical seashell of justice and summon him once more: dude, how much mcd is enough? I saw the 18G ones and they seem to be too much. Plus, i think they take more power when you get to higher mcd levels.
