Like the topic says, it's to brag about the great deals video-game related stuff you find. And to get rid of other threads like this.

I bought a Dreamcast off a friend with ten games, 8 demos, 2 controllers, a tremor pack and a VMU for $25. He didn't use it and I wanted one badly so I got it for cheap.

I got a $3000 laptop back in 99' for free....

I found $200 at the bottom of a swimmng pool

I got a GBASP imported 4 months before it was released to the USA for free

I got a dreamcast plus hardware for the cost of a 3" binder full of printouts (about 80 cents for the binder, the printouts were free)

Oh, and when i say FREE, i mean it. No money was spent by any persons to get the item.... FREE.

I got an Atari 7800 for $3 at a Goodwill, a Vectrex for $10 at my grandparents' neighbors' yard sale, a Commodore 64 with all kinds of disks and accessories for $4 at a yard sale, another Commodore 64, and two 1541 disk drives for it (all boxed), as well as a 1701 monitor for free, an Apple IIc (monitor, computer, software, all boxed) free, and a boxed Intellivision with a dozen boxed games for $5 at a yard sale.

I also got a 100MHz Pentium laptop for $5, and a 1.2 GHz Celeron processor for $35.

lol, i was WAITING for that...!

I got 6 Commodore 64's with 2 drives each, 2 printers, 4 S-vid / composite monitors, 2 RGB monitors and all the hookup cables i coudl sling over my shoulders for free.

Ive gotten over 50 computers, 46 of them were free... (MMX 233Mhz, P2 300-500Mhz, Celeron 333-650 Mhz, P3 400Mhz - 1Ghz, AMD K6 333-450Mhz, AMD Athalons, and a p4) and quite a few 486's (but i dont count those)

On a serious not, I got my laptop free.

IBM Thinkpad R30: p3 1.0ghz, 256mb ram, cd-rw, dvd-rom, win xp. It works...i like it!

my NeoGeo Pocket cost me over $100 back in '98 (bad deal)
but my NeoGeo Pocket Color with 6 games cost me $20 new... (in the repack bundle)
go figure...

Cybikos were being clearanced for $12 at my target. I got a couple cases (12 units total) and gave everybody I knew one for xmas.
One friend who didn't get one felt so left out (and didn't know about the deal) that she bought one for $80 from Best Buy. I guess since half the people she knew had them, they must have seemed trendier than they were.

Laptop- free from classmate (It worked but the case was F.U.B.A.R. Now it serves as a PSone batery charger

Black garbage bag full of Atari 2600 carts- $5 (yard sale. One of the games is Raquetball, which is about a 4 or 5 out of 10 on AtariAge last time I looked.)

GBC pack back in '99 (Top Gear Pocket, Crazy Castle 3, Asteroids)- free (birthdays rule)

Game Boy Printer: $16 (I think in '00)

Game Boy Camera- $10 (Target clearance rack)

Homemade external GBC 2X D cell battery- $25 (But it has paid for itself tenfold in batteries)

Second game Boy Color, Kirby 2, non-working pokemon Blue(?) motherboard, wall adapter, Code Breaker, and Xbox Mini controller board- free (classmate cleaned out his closet and got rid of them)

2 PCs- Free from the school (When they declare them dead I ask if I can take them and they say "OK". Both work just fine when you add the processor and disk drives

Various PC software including Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Giants, Age of Empires 2 (with expansion pack) and 2 USB joysticks- free (my dad found them in the trash at work

While not video game related, I did get a brand-new copy of Office 2003 for free. (My dad found it in the trash at work when they cleaned out a guy's cubicle after he got fired.)

One Gaplus/Galaga III arcade tower: free, but in need of restoration; I'm rebuilding it where it sits low to the ground like a tabletop arcade game, like you'd find in a bar or old Pizza Hut, where you sat on a stool and could sit food or drinks of the flat glass while you played. All the ROM components and chips to switch the games out are intact and all the parts are there, but I need wiring schematics (the manual was inside, but it doesn't have what I need) for the on/off switch, as they got disconnected in transit.

It's a Bally/Midway release, but their website isn't hepful. Anybody know a vendor I could call?

[EDIT] - Well, I found the new tech support people on the Midway site, so wish me luck.
