Carputer Update

Well since a few people here have decided to put computers in their car I thought id send out an update on my car pc.

So far im 95% finished and I havn't spent a cent yet. I still have to buy a GPS unit (maby, they cost like $90) and a fm transmitter (main thing I need).

I'm using Meedio, one of the best and most configureable media PCs (I could use a car specific frount end but i'm running a 4:3 display and not a widscreen). You can do almost anything with this program andit could almost become a new shell for windows, you can lissen to music, run games, watch movies, use GPS and a bunch of other things.

I'm using a PSOne screen and painting it black with black attatchments I made out of a coathangger (I want to do a face install but it needs to go in 2 cars and neither of them are mine, I just drive them).

For all that are interested you should go to http://www.mp3car.com. This site is dedicated to car PCs.... and some really sick ones. Some of the guys there have cars with 5+ LCDs built into the headrests, glove box, headrests and any other flat serface in the car. (Also at this site I found NiN^_^NiN. Apperintly hes building frountends for car PCs now.

Ya, my moms van has a tape deck but all my dads car has is a radio, so I need a FM transmitter to lissen to the music in my dads car.... (tho my dads car only has about 1 year left before it croaks, its a 1985 (3 years older than me O.o) Dodge Aires)
