My OS history is; Windows 95, Mac OS 8, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 98, Windows XP, Red Hat 9, SuSE 9.1, DSL, Mac OS X and now PCBSD.
This is in chronological order. Now I know some might wonder why I used Mac OS 8 then. I had a Mac on loan form my middle school.
Now I have to say that getting kids into various OS is a good thing as I spend over three years on that Mac and had to learn how to use and get through Windows all over again. Also learning how to use a Unix-lke OS is one of the best things in the world. I only just got into it but its a thinking man's system.
I will say one thing if on the off chance (or hell freezes over) and I have kids. they will be building a computer. Or using older equitpment so they are not all high and mighty about hardware like some poeple are.
