Frisbee

My friends and I play frisbee tag every weekend. We use a led frisbee. It cost 30 bucks for it. I bought a awesome 10 dollar frisbee that is clear, but i dont know how I want to set up some leds or sumthing on it. I would actually like to put a small strobe light on it. We play in pitch black so it would be hard to dodge a strobe frisbee.

That sounds pretty awesome. How do you play frisbee tag? Do you try to hit people with the frisbee?

Set it up with a couple LEDs, button batteries, and a 555 oscillator chip.

Ya, frisbee tag....Well one person starts with the frisbee, and then everyone hides. The 'IT' person goes and searches. The light on the frisbee has to be on in order for the hit to count. Thats about it. And 10 second tag backs. It is a blast.

I don't like frisbee. I don't like anything I throw to curve, unless it comes all the way back to me (no half-efforts here).

strobes need a bit of power to run. If you just want blinking LEDs, you can just buy blinking LEDs. If you want to build a circuit to make LEDs blink you can use a simple 2 transistor circuit. You can go down the 555 Timer path, but its a little more complex.

It would be BAD ASS if you can get a hold of one of those iTops ( http://www.irwintoy.com/itop/ ) and inergrate that into a frisbee! I would love to see that!

We play at the same house every time, its not that big, maybe an acre or two. But ya I'm 'borrowing' my tech teachers 555 oscillator thingys, we played with that stuff in there. Then i will get a few leds, and a potentiometer(how ever you spell it, its like a dimmer) Then i can control the speed.

No, batteries and chips are light as heck compared to the still light weight of the frisbee.

Not really. If you use a button-cel battery, and balance everything out properly, there should be no problems.

Try making a duct tape flap on top of your frisbee. It sounds sorty of like an idling helicopter. flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap...
