Is this batter any good for a N64p?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

You would need atleast 2, and even more if your screen needs more than 7.6V. It is pretty hard to say unless you post it's capacity, or atleast a link.

that was a pretty not so informative post, it should work fine for the cpu rail, but not for the a/v rail....

For $10, that is a pretty good deal, but like I said, you will need more than 1.

i dunno dude, personally i think the only way power should be supplied to a n64 is through a main 12v regulated system, in which u use voltage converters to regulate it to about 3v and then supply that to the cpu, and supply the 12v to the n64 itself...., it saves time on independant power systesms in your portables (which was the downfall of my last 2 portables) and its much easier to charge a 12v system, then a bunch of weird voltages, btw i just bought a brandnew gamecube battery, which will serve power for my entire console for 17 bucks shipped, u might wanna look into that, cuase ur gonna spend that on just those dinky 600ma batteries

You don't need 12V, because the N64 has a 7808 which regulates it down. I didn't even think to look at the amperage, but I went back now, and don't get it. It can't even power your 3V line unless you use a step-down transformer. You won't get enough play time to start a game.

i know the n64 has a regulator, however the voltage converters used to supply 3v to the cpu rail are 12v based converters, that wont operate under app 10.8 v, and further more the screen recommened to use the 'gamecube lcd' as its less fragile and takes a standard input of 12v, so as 12v is not required, it REALLLYYYY helps to have a central power source, and have everything regulate as needed, think of if your tv took 7 different voltage inputs, that would just be stupid...

But that only applies if you use a 12V-3V converters and a screen that takes 12V.

first of all, the N64 has a 7805....people keep thinking it's a 7808 for some reason :?....because it's a 7805, you can use anywhere from 7.2v to 36v (DC, of course)..for the 3.3 line either use an actual regulator or some resistors......if you don't mind sound and picture distortion, you can go with 3v using a car regulator (and most work with 7.2v, btw...). and sam, those batteries would suck for an N64p. unless you got about 12 of them you wouldn't have a decent battery life....I'd suggest going with NiMh, as those are probably the best relatively cheap batteries for an N64p. if you're REALLY strapped for cash, simply go with NiCad (just make sure you use the NiCad batteries all the way before you recharge them!!!)
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

ok....
a) the higher voltage you run a regulator off of (within its bounds) the more effiecent it is...., THEREFORE better battery life, and better battery life expectancy
b) i dont think ive ever seen a car power adapter that you could run well below 10, however it would be possible for some to
c) the 78XX family of regulators are very ineffiecient
d) you dont have to use a 12v screen
e) there is nothing wrong with supplying the n64 its rated voltages
f) your going to need batteries that are at LEAST 1.5 amp, if your going to get any play time outa your portable

point, cause the screen can determine your main voltage level
