can i? i really dont want to mess up my progress if i cant...

Some epoxies are conductive, some aren't. depends what you use.

is there anyway to tell if its conductive? i am using the epoxy for plastic (planning on using it on a case i am building
).

If it is conductive a continuity test with your multimeter would tell.

I would use hotglue. It is easier to remove if you need to redo something.

I second that, hot glue is great for covering pcbs and solder joints, also FANTASTIC for stopping you knocking of surface mount components, this trick has saved my wii motherboard many a time.
