The full game is chinese.
Also, the Dingoo does NOT have specific games. They just ripped off the Gemei X760 chipset, the games were made for that.

Excellent

I'm trying to decide if this is worth it or not. I have a tight budget and I love to play retro games, specifically SNES RPG's. I'm wondering if I should get this or maybe a windows mobile cell phone. They can play all windows mobile emulators right?

They can all use the emulators, but the speed will not be the same for all phones.
Also, windows mobile phones have crap controls. If you want SNES games, get this, and a super cheap cellphone.

Get a DS or a PSP. Much better than this cheap crap.

why is this crap?XCVG wrote:Get a DS or a PSP. Much better than this cheap crap.
I haven't been here in awhile, and looking back it's one of the worst ideas I ever had. I'm back and I'll be here for awhile, I was quite active 1 year ago and I hope to become that again.

Recommending a DS obviously means you're an idiot. DS is only good for pirating games and crap emulation. The Dingoo is an emulating beast!XCVG wrote:Get a DS or a PSP. Much better than this cheap crap.
The Dingoo is meant for emulation and media, the DS and PSP are meant for overpriced games. How could you recommend something like that?

Or you can put it the way my parents put it:
It's a great media device you can bring to places such as school and not worry about it getting stolen because
A) It probably doesn't have much value to a non-geek
B) It is cheap and can be easily replaced
All these are based off of an iPod or an MP3 player.

Re: Thoughts on this cheap unit???
Well, RPG's don't need that great of controls.
Re: Thoughts on this cheap unit???
Yes, it must be crap if you can buy 2 of them for about the same price as a DS or PSP and 4GB of storage.XCVG wrote:Get a DS or a PSP. Much better than this cheap crap.
So who has ordered/received one of these?

It didn't bug me that much but I usually buy all my electronics stuff in black if it comes that way. But its white but maybe it'll look cleanereagle5953 wrote:And that obviously bugs you - I don't know which way I would have gone on that.DJ711 wrote:I have. That is odd.DJ711 wrote:It didn't bug me that much but I usually buy all my electronics stuff in black if it comes that way. But its white but maybe it'll look cleanerPlus for some odd reason on dealextreme its I think a dollar more for black than white and it has a longer shipping time.
I have a white DS Lite and a black PSP. I think the white looks 'cleaner' as you say, but the black is less noticable when playing; it sort of frames the screen that way. I suppose the screen looks brighter, too.
I still don't know which way I would go - I'm leaning towards the SmartQ anyway, on the recommendation of Palmer.

What is a smart Q? You mean like a tablet?eagle5953 wrote:That is odd.DJ711 wrote:It didn't bug me that much but I usually buy all my electronics stuff in black if it comes that way. Engadget's been following itpalmertech wrote:Personally, I am waiting for the new firmware for the just released SmartQ 5 MID. It uses the same SOC family as the iphone, OpenGL ES 1.1/2.0 support, and a 667mhz ARM11 CPU.
It has emulators up to GBA on it, and someone is porting a PSX emulator to it, and it has USB gamepad and TV out support by default. Should be easy to make a cradle for it.
That+Ubuntu (Which is the OS it is running) and PSX will make me forget all about the pandora.
